The NWDA’s main role is to stimulate economic growth and regeneration in the Northwest. To develop effective strategies and plans - such as the Regional Economic Strategy, Corporate Plan and Business Plan - the NWDA needs up-to-date, accurate and reliable information to base decisions on.

We produce a number of economic surveys and briefs to monitor the economy and forecast changes over the coming months and years.

The document below are available via the Northwest Regional Intelligence Unit (NWRIU) website

Weekly Economic Reports

In response to the current economic climate, the NWDA also produces a Weekly Economic Summary which highlights key regional, national and international economic issues. The Summary provides the most up-to-date intelligence on how the economic climate is affecting the Northwest economy.

Monthly Economic Reports

The Monthly Economic Summary - a qualitative monthly overview of current economic circumstances - is produced by the Regional Economic Forum. The summary includes anecdotal evidence of regional business issues.

Experian produce a Monthly Economic Briefing on behalf of the NWDA, which includes details of its latest forecasts for economic growth and employment.
