Environment Connect

The NWDA coordinates the Business Resource Efficiency and Waste Minimisation Programme (BREW) in the region in partnership with key regional stakeholders. BREW has been developed by the Department for Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) to use landfill tax receipts to help businesses to improve their resource efficiency and waste management practices.

In the Northwest, BREW is delivered under the name Environment Connect.  The programme is a new opportunity for businesses in the region to gain commercial success through environmental good practice. Companies gain access to services and support which will help them increase resource efficiency, reduce waste sent to landfill and develop new innovative technologies, helping to propel the region to the vanguard of environmental excellence.
