Rural Development Services Projects

In September 2006, the Rural Development Service's project-based schemes – including the Rural Enterprise Scheme, the Processing and Marketing Grant and the Vocational Training Scheme – were transferred to the NWDA. These projects aim to provide new opportunities to protect and improve the countryside, develop sustainable enterprises and help rural communities to thrive.

In 2007 the NWDA helped to establish the Strengthening Rural Communities across the North West programme. The grant scheme aims to help improve and grow local services in rural communities.
