Tourism Marketing Campaigns
The NWDA has published the Regional Tourism Marketing
Framework in order to direct the tourism marketing efforts of both
the Agency and its regional tourism partners. Each of the
sub-regions has a responsibility to develop their own destination
marketing plans as the NWDA develops some of the region-wide and
externally-facing programmes set out in its five year action
plan
Gardens of England’s Northwest
This is an annual campaign that focuses on one of the
region’s particular strengths. The Gardens of England’s Northwest
guide, produced in partnership with Haymarket, serves to grow
visitor numbers to the region’s garden attractions and to
strengthen positive perceptions of the Northwest. The guide is
distributed through newspaper and magazine teaser inserts and
adverts, as well as the Tourist Information Centre network in the
region.

50 Fabulous Walks in England’s Northwest
50 Fabulous Walks started off as 25 Great Walks but has
quickly grown to reflect the diverse and fantastic scenery of
England’s Northwest. In partnership with ITV Granada under the
Britain on the Move banner, this guide aims to encourage people to
explore the Northwest on foot. It is again distributed through
newspaper and magazine teaser inserts and adverts, as well as the
Tourist Information Centre network in the region.

England’s Golf Coast
The coastline of England’s Northwest, which stretches from the
Wirral peninsula in the south to the Solway Firth in the north, is
home to some of the UK’s most naturally beautiful and challenging
golf courses. These rich pickings have been brought together as
England’s Golf Coast, a marketing campaign delivered regionally by
The Mersey Partnership. Merseyside’s 70 miles of coastline are at
the heart of England’s Golf Coast and will play host to the Open
Championship in 2008.

Industrial Powerhouse
Lead by Marketing Manchester, this regional campaign is based on
the rich, accessible 200-year industrial heritage of England’s
Northwest. The foundations of the Industrial Powerhouse campaign
lie in the legacy of the first industrial society: the machines,
ruins, factories, warehouses and canals, as well as the people that
created them and the significant and continuing contribution of the
region to politics and ideas.
