The Liverpool Summit 2008
Learn. Engage. Create & Transform the Future

Wednesday 1st - Thursday 2nd October 2008

You may think Liverpool’s year as European Capital of Culture could not get any more spectacular, but this week business leaders across the country are gearing up for the pinnacle business event of the year – The Liverpool Summit being staged at the BT Convention Centre.

Over 800 captains of industry from across the country have already registered to attend the two-day event, which will feature workshops and presentations from seven of the worlds most sought after business minds, including former United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan, Clayton Christensen, Will Hutton, Terry Leahy, Renée Mauborgne, Chris Patten and Michael Porter.

Supported by the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) and organised by Benchmark for Business, the Liverpool Summit has the backing of the North West Business Leadership Team (NWBLT), the Financial Times, Liverpool John Moores University and Liverpool 08.

As this year’s flagship event for the business world, the Liverpool Summit will create a lasting legacy that will benefit the whole of England’s Northwest and contribute to the continued success of Liverpool08.

Taking place on 1st and 2nd October, the Summit promises to be an unrivalled executive learning opportunity, with an agenda that will transform the way business leaders think, promoting bold management practice.

The Summit Expo will include exhibitors from across the region relevant to the wider business community including leading business schools, leadership and management development experts. Here business leaders can engage with leading minds, whose ideas and vision have already changed the global business environment.

On behalf of all supporters and organisers, Mark Hughes, Executive Director of Enterprise and Skills, NWDA said:

“Since day one the Liverpool Summit has been defined by excellence, setting extremely high standards for business events of the future. In bringing together exceptional advice from a range of internationally renowned professionals, the event will cause a massive impact during this critically important time for the business world."

“It is a real opportunity for Liverpool and the whole of England’s Northwest to showcase its ability to do business and create success stories within a tough economic climate.”
